Portable Substation Equipment

Portable transformers are used instead of substation transformers when they are inspected, repaired or shut down during substation construction. Portable transformers can also be used to provide additional capacity to permanent substations in the event of a temporary load increase. Portable transformers are available on trailers and self-powered trucks. These substations are usable while they are loaded on trailers or trucks.

Portable Transformers

Portable Transformers

Electricity is essential to our lives. Portable transformers eliminate the risk of power failure and ensure the safe transmission of electricity.

Portable transformers are composed of a transformer unit, an insulating oil cooler, a control panel, and a circuit breaker, which are all loaded on a single truck. Portable transformers step down a line voltage from 66kV to 6.6kV.

Kitashiba offers portable transformers with a wide range of capacity from 6MVA to 20MVA.

Portable Substation Facilities

Portable Substation Facilities

Portable substations are composed of a transformer unit, an insulating oil cooler, a control panel, a circuit breaker, and 6.6kV electricity distribution equipment, which are all loaded on a trailer. The trailer serves as a substation, stepping down the line voltage from 66kV to 6.6kV. Portable substations can be used in place of a permanent substation to be shut down for inspection or repair.

Available in capacities from 6MVA to 20MVA and with up to six distribution lines, Kitashiba’s portable substations also help ensure electricity supply in times of emergency.

Compact Substations

Compact Substations

Compact substations are composed of a transformer, a circuit breaker, and a distribution panel, which are transportable while they are fully assembled. After installation, operation of compact substations can be started just by connecting cables.

In addition, Kitashiba’s compact substations provide an enhanced level of safety allowing stress-free operations because the chargers for the components of compact substations are not exposed. These substations have 50% less of a footprint than Kitashiba’s conventional substations. Therefore, when you need to replace an old substation, the power outage time can be reduced by installing Kitashiba’s compact substation close to the existing substation.
